Hi everybody!

Pam Broviak and I have been doing some brainstorming about the best way to collect information for a possible book/magazine/blog to help educate builders on best practices for design in virtual worlds.

We thought that perhaps organizing a series of field trips to look at well designed spaces would generate all sorts of good ideas about effective design practices. We tested the idea on ourselves, and we found that we were quite inspired by actually being in the spaces, and the discussions we had there yielded all sorts of interesting ideas. It was a very enjoyable experience.

So, we’re going to organize our first field trip, and open it up to anyone who is interested. The trick is finding a time when the maximum number of interested people can attend, and SL isn’t too laggy.

What are your thoughts on Saturday at 7:30 am SLT? We’re hoping to have the first trip on this Saturday (June 20th.)

I know its a little early for the US west coast, but it enables those in Europe to join in.

We could also rotate the day, so that those who can never make a Saturday trip would have a chance to participate.

Any thoughts? Suggestions for a better day and time? Put ’em down here (log in to The ARCH Network community site to join this discussion!  join HERE)
