Congratulations to the Frank Lloyd Wright Virtual Museum for securing a licensing agreement with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation for its work in Second Life.  With Taliesin in my own backyard here in Madison, and the magnitude of influence Mr. Wright has had on my own architectural quest, I am really looking forward to watching this project grow over time.  These people are among the most dedicated and persistent builders and FLW enthusiasts I have ever met, and I am confident they will carry on Mr. Wright’s legacy faithfully, with the highest possible quality and historical accuracy.  You can visit their ‘Usonia’ sim by clicking HERE.  If you don’t have an account, click ‘Sign Up’ in the upper right corner of this link.

I can confirm that Virtual Museums, Inc. and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation have entered into a Licensing agreement, however the use of the word “partnership” is a legal construct implying more than a license agreement. Our organizations are in the process of completing a formal press release. I will make sure that we send you a copy as soon as it is available. Could you please correct this. The information that you received was a very rough draft of a possible press release that was no intended to be released ans was done so by accident. Our organizations are in the process of completing a formal press release. I will make sure that we send you a copy as soon as it is available.
Thanks, and sorry for the confusion

My understanding is that the agreement is a licensing agreement rather than a “partnership” per se, but nonetheless this is a most welcome development.

When we visited the FLWVM for our Designing Worlds show late last year we were very impressed by the work that has been done there. There were suggestions at the time that work was going on in the background to formalise a relationship, and I am very pleased to hear that it has now come to fruition.

It’s a wonderful place and and a great introduction to the work of arguably the most famous American architect of all time.

    JeanRicard – fantastic news indeed!

Frey – I’ve removed the press release copy from the post, and revised the headline to ‘licensing agreement’ rather than ‘partnership.’ I had taken the term ‘partnership’ directly out of the press release I was sent.

Elrik – thanks for the link! I’ll have to check that out. The work they’ve done so far truly is a great introduction to the work of (I agree..) the most famous American architect of all time.
