This 3D model of downtown Dubuque is a work in progress, intended to provide the city and community with a resource to help visualize this unique, historical downtown area. Architectural and real estate development projects can be imported into this model to help visualize what the new project will look like, and to gain input from project stakeholders.
This virtual model can be embedded and accessed from within any web site, Facebook page, or even on an iPad, iPhone, and Android powered mobile devices. It
Interactive icons are placed throughout Main Street, containing additional information about the city’s sustainability initiatives, historical information, educational resources and more. Information icons can also contain voice narration describing each highlighted area. There are also ‘NPC’ or ‘non player characters’ wandering around the city that can be scripted to interact and provide information to visitors.
